The Role

As a Physician Assistant, you’ll provide comprehensive, patient-centered care across the continuum in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Working closely with surgeons and interdisciplinary teams, you’ll play a vital role in diagnosis, treatment planning, procedures, and follow-up care.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform comprehensive and problem-focused patient assessments, including histories and physical exams
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and lab results
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with physicians
  • Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions within scope of practice
  • Provide patient and family education on conditions, procedures, medications, and wellness
  • First assist/second assist in the OR and perform procedures based on competency and training
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care
  • See patients in clinic, inpatient rounding, and emergency department settings
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and initiate referrals when appropriate

  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical software

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (clinic, OR, and scheduled outpatient coverage)
  • Call coverage: 6 days/month and 1 weekend/month
  • Patient volume: 12–20 patients per clinic day
  • Inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, including rounding as needed

Location: College Station, Texas

Our College Station hospital features:

  • 142 beds
  • Level III Trauma Center
  • Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
  • ANCC Magnet® Designation for nursing excellence

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Less than 1 year of experience required
  • Current Texas PA license
  • NCCPA certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (or within 30 days of hire)
